Terms and Conditions

Welcome to the Peninsula Recycled Timber website. By browsing or purchasing from us, you agree to these Terms and Conditions. We supply reclaimed timber products and manufactured furniture within Australia.

  1. Recycled Timber Characteristics and Variations

We specialise in reclaimed and recycled timber. You acknowledge that timber is a natural, organic product that reacts to environmental conditions.

Natural Features: Variations in color, grain, knots, texture, nail holes, bolt slots, seasoning checks, and natural weathering are distinct features of recycled timber, not manufacturing defects.

Acclimatisation and Movement: Timber expands and contracts with changes in temperature and humidity. Minor structural movement, cupping, or hairline surface splits are normal and are not covered as defects.

2. Manufactured Furniture Warranty

We provide a 12-month structural warranty on our manufactured furniture items (such as tables, vanities, and benches) from the date of delivery or collection.

What is Covered: This warranty covers structural integrity, joinery, and manufacturing faults under normal residential use.

What is Excluded: This warranty does not cover normal wear and tear, superficial splits, fading of finishes, or damage caused by impact, overloading, or misuse.

Voiding the Warranty: The warranty is completely void if the furniture is placed in direct sunlight, positioned near heating or cooling vents, exposed to excessive moisture, or used outdoors (unless explicitly designed and sold by us for outdoor use).

3. Raw and Dressed Timber Supplies

All raw, dressed, or milled timber supplies (including beams, cladding, posts, and lining boards) are sold as-is at the time of supply.

No Structural Warranty: We do not offer a structural or longevity warranty on timber supplies once they have been delivered, cut, altered, or installed.

Buyer Responsibility: Storage, acclimatization, sealing, and installation methods are entirely outside of our control. It is the buyer's or installer's responsibility to inspect the timber for grade suitability and dimensions prior to cutting or installation.

4. Delivery, Risk, and Supply Boundaries

Australia Only: Our supply and delivery services are strictly limited to locations within Australia. We do not ship internationally.

Risk Transfer: Risk of damage or loss passes to you immediately upon delivery to your specified Australian address or upon collection from our warehouse.

5. Limitation of Liability

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL). For major failures with the service, you are entitled to cancel your service contract and to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value. You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our liability for any breach of a guarantee or warranty is strictly limited to:

  • The replacement of the goods or the supply of equivalent goods;

  • The repair of the goods; or

  • The payment of the cost of replacing or repairing the goods.

We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, installation costs, or site delays.

6. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Australia. Any disputes relating to our products or services must be resolved within the courts of Australia.
